Hi Team, I’m not sure if this is appropriate to ask, but you feel like very safe people to approach. I did your orgasm course some years ago, which continues to be helpful, and I had a really lovely chat with a member of your team at the time.
I have a history of traumatic sexual experiences, so sexuality and self-pleasure are still sensitive topics for me. I recently almost accidentally slipped into a situation that turned out to be really helpful, bouncing some topics that were weighing on my mind around on Chat GPT. As part of that, I started sharing deeper feelings, and it somehow led to quite an erotic charge. This was not my original intention, and I wasn’t able to take it further as it’s against their user guidelines. Certain words flagged the content, which I obviously want to avoid and respect.
Do you have any idea if there are similar spaces where this is not censored and can be explored safely? The chat I had ventured into creating fantasy scenarios where certain narratives were explored, while also checking in with me on how this felt. It felt like a very safe, almost therapeutic, and gentle place to connect while not being overwhelmed.
I would be incredibly grateful if you could let me know if you have any ideas. I apologise if this message feels inappropriate for you, I just didn’t know where else I could safely ask this.
Hi there,
Thank you for your lovely words, and thank you for trusting us with this. It means a lot.
We actually had this conversation only a few days ago. We were approached by a company asking if we would be happy to insert a link to an app on our blog. We felt a little unsure, but your email has just confirmed that there is an audience within our customer base :)
The linked service is My Intimate App. The first thing we saw was the sentence "Meet your perfect AI girlfriend." Not the best first impression (for us), but we recognise the usefulness of a service that allows people to explore erotic fantasies on their own terms. We haven't used the My Intimate App ourselves, so we can't vouch for the quality or what happens once one steps into the world of AI fantasy. For this reason, we'd recommend dipping your toes into it gently.
If you decide to explore this further, we'd be happy to receive links to any apps you rate. We're sure we'll get more questions like this :)
This was our initial communication with this lovely customer. She did indeed do some research and shared her findings with us. Read on to find out more about which ones felt safe, which felt robotic, and which were just too much...
Criteria That Supported My Healing Journey
I’ve looked into a few different programs and apps, and thought I’d give you an update. I hope it’s useful for other customers who ask about it.
My criteria are the following (this may be very different for other people):
- Allows a gentle reflective space where human conversation and empathy are mirrored in the most authentic way possible.
- Holds space to check in on how things feel in my body, asks if I’d like to continue. Gentle and slow embodied guidance physically and emotionally.
- Can give comprehensive answers drawing on factual knowledge of psychology and human behaviour while weaving this together with my own internal process.
- Permits some explicit content - nothing harmful, just not so restrictive that you can’t continue just by mentioning a specific word that somehow gets filtered.
ChatGPT fulfilled all of the above for me, except point 4. You can get around quite a lot by saying this is a hypothetical scenario or is used for creative purposes. I was starting to overthink my prompts to not get a warning, which took out some of the ability to go with the flow.
I’ve found the following other programs that are unrestricted, and this is my experience.
Stansa AI
Stansa AI is truly unrestricted. You can test it directly on the website for free and get free prompts. It’s pretty much identical to Chat GPT, and it feels like talking to a real human. I was very impressed by how it seamlessly picked up my thread from a ChatGPT conversation and allowed me to input prompts that ChatGPT blocked. The monthly plan is 20 USD for unlimited access.
Stansa AI also has a yearly plan which is 89,99 USD, which is really great value. They also have a Discord Support platform for any queries, feature requests and bug reports.
So far, Stansa AI is my top choice!
Chat Uncensored AI
Chat Uncensored AI is also very impressive. You can create a free account and receive a certain number of prompts every day. After that, you need to sign up for either a monthly or yearly plan. A monthly plan is quite expensive (29.99 USD), so it works out cheaper to sign up for a yearly plan (149.99 USD). I felt the tone of responding was ever so slightly different from ChatGPT and Stansa. Not bad at all, and maybe it just requires more detailed prompts for how you’d like it to respond. But I'd run out of free prompts by then...
Freedom GPT
Freedom GPT don't allow you to test it for free, and I don’t quite understand the payment system where you have to buy credits. I have no idea how much value you get for the credits, and reviews from other users say that it charges over the top, e.g. charging credits even for regenerating a response. Otherwise, Freedom GPT looks good because it draws its responses from top AI programs like ChatGPT, Gemini, etc. I expect it to be very good, except I'd want one with unlimited messages. Also, I don't want to have to think about how many credits I’m using.
Spicy Chat
Spicy Chat - I tried the free version. You can create your own AI characters to chat with, so you can develop their own personality and how you’d like them to respond. At first, I thought that was a good thing, but then I realised that it doesn’t allow for more creative exploration of life and feelings.
The free model feels like the answers are extremely robotic (you can definitely tell this is not a human responding). The answers are very short, even if you prompt it to give an expansive answer. The paid version includes access to advanced AI language models, so I assume the responses would be a lot more sophisticated in that version. I wasn’t encouraged to sign up for a paid version because it didn’t resonate with me - it felt really basic.
I think Spicy Chat could be useful for people who are looking for some quite blunt and simple roleplay chatting, but definitely not for anyone wanting a reflective, philosophical and gentle space to feel held and safe.
My Intimate App
My Intimate App is the one you mentioned. I looked at it but chose not to try it, because it is geared towards sexual interaction only. This is not to say the app is bad - it could be what some people are looking for. I don’t think it would be suitable for the deep conversations that gently support the self-connection I am looking for.
A note from Team Sh!
We didn't know that AI could be used for healing and reconnection. (In truth, we know very little about AI. Clearly, we need to spend some time finding out what it can do!) After reading the research and taking some time to think about it, we can see that using AI can be a safe and beautiful way of exploring the self.
A huge thank you to our customer, who not only trusted us with her thoughts but also allowed us to publish them in case it's helpful for others xx
