Finding the Right Vibrator for Pleasure & Healing: Advice for Vaginismus & Vulvodynia

Finding the Right Vibrator for Pleasure & Healing: Advice for Vaginismus & Vulvodynia - Sh! Women's Store
Hi there,

I'd love to get your recommendations on a vibrator, please. The only toy I have currently is a simple bullet vibrator that I bought many years ago. It only has one setting and sometimes feels too intense.

For further context, I'm currently trying to overcome vaginismus and vulvodynia. I've had it for at least 8 years and I'm gradually making progress (I bought your dilators and have been using them to help me over the years). I'd like to invest in a new toy that can help me access pleasure as part of my recovery journey, and help me learn more about what feels good and maybe get closer to having an orgasm for the first time. Due to the vaginismus, I'd prefer a toy that is used externally rather than a dildo-type toy.

I'm interested in something with different intensity settings that I could build up, something waterproof that could be used in the bath and shower, and something quiet so I don't get self-conscious which can take me out of the moment.

It's a bit overwhelming to choose given all the options out there so I would really appreciate some advice from you! How do I go about findong the right vibrator for me?

Thank you for getting in touch!

We're thrilled to hear the Sh! Vaginal Dilators have been helpful for you. We love hearing from customers who are ready to step off their Vaginismus dilator journey and onto the orgasmic pleasure train. We're so excited for you!

Finding the Right Vibrator

We know that choosing a vibe can feel overwhelming - our customers say this all the time. With so many fun options, it's tricky to pick just one! What if it's the wrong one?!

But that's why we're here :) With over 30 years of sex toy expertise under our belts, we are confident we can help you choose a vibrator that will deliver pleasure again and again.

Your list of must-haves is great - it makes it easier for us to narrow it down. Here's what we have got for you:

Je Joue Mimi – A Luxurious, Rumbly Delight

If you are looking for a vibrator that will deliver pleasure for many years, we recommend looking at Je Joue Mimi. This luxe clit toy is small, waterproof, rechargeable, and quiet. (Ticks all the boxes!)

What makes Mimi extra delicious is the deep, rumbly vibrations. Rumbly vibes penetrate deeper into the clitoral structure, thus creating a more reliable orgasmic experience. This is amazing for people who find the buzzy vibrations of bullets too intense.

Je Joue Mimi vibrator is fully variable in intensity, so you can enjoy all its sensual pleasure modes in a whisper-gentle setting. This is particularly useful for someone with vulvodynia, as stronger stimulation could be painful.

Mimi is made from smooth silicone, which feels velvety and luxurious.

ILY Pebble – A Budget-Friendly Alternative

If you love the idea of Mimi but find it a bit pricey, we have a more affordable option: ILY Pebble by Je Joue. (Yes, the same Je Joue - the ILY vibes are their more affordable range.)

ILY Pebble has the same sexy, deep vibrations but at half the price. ILY Pebble is rechargeable and made from silicone, just like Mimi. The only downside is that the ILY Pebble isn't 100% waterproof, so not for playtime in the bathtub... That said, ILY Pebble is still a great clit vibe for a very purse-friendly price.

Clit Suction Toys – New Sensations!

If you haven’t tried clit suction toys yet, we'd love to introduce you to these orgasm-reliable toys!

Instead of traditional vibrations, suction toys use pulses of air to create a sucking sensation around the clitoris. They have several levels of air suction intensity, and you can go from gentle to wowzers in mere seconds. We have found this type of vibe to be particularly good for orgasms - clits are super-happy with suction sensations!

Suction vibes are generally louder than traditional vibrators, but the Satisfyer Cutie Heart is one of the quieter options. The soft silicone is body-safe, strokeable and feels lovely to touch. The heart-shaped design is cute (hence the name) and sits comfortably in the palm of your hand. 2 motors are independently controlled, meaning you can tailor the Cutie Heart's offerings to your desires.

The suction Heart is rechargeable and waterproof, and as Satisfyer offers a 15-year guarantee, Satisfyer Cutie Heart is a solid investment!
