Nipple Clamp Safety Tips

Nipple Clamp Safety Tips - Advice at Sh! Women's Store

Nipple clamps are fantastic for hands-free play or if you fancy a particularly feisty pinch of your raspberry ripples. The cheeky pinch of nipple clamps is delicious, but the real sensation comes after the clamp is released.

Read on for our top tips on using clips & clamps safely and sensually.

Best nipple clamps for beginners

Tweezer Nipple Clampsan excellent set for newbies exploring first-time nipple play. The V-shaped clamps open wide to go behind the nipple and are totally adjustable – you simply slide the clip upwards until the desired level of pinch is reached. The connecting chain adds weights and is ideal for tugging. It also looks super-hot hanging between the breasts!

How to attach nipple clamps

Pull the nipple out and apply the nipple clamp toward the back – almost behind the nipple. Clips attached too close to the nip tip can be frustrating; they will slip off in the heat of the moment.

Clamping as much as possible behind the areola will give you a much more secure pinch.

How long to leave nipple clamps

Clamping time depends on the type of clamp used and its ‘cut-off.' Lack of blood flow to a body part can result in tissue damage and is not advisable to ignore.

If you're new to clamping, we recommend going slow. The clip cuts off blood supply, so a minute or two is plenty to start off with. Even seasoned players shouldn't leave on clamps for longer than 30 minutes at a time. Nips need regular breaks and a chance for circulation to be restored.

Check nipple sensations regularly

Once you’ve gotten over the initial shock of a clamp being attached to your nipple, sensations will settle down. Leave on the clamp for about a minute or so to start out with. Once the clamp is released, you'll experience an "OUCH!" sensation when the blood flows back into the sensitive nipple.

Clamps make nipples incredibly sensitive

When the clamps are released, circulation is restored, and blood rushes back into the area, the nerve endings will zing. How much zinging takes place depends on how sensitive your nipples are in their regular state. If your nips go bonkers at the brush of a blouse, stand back to be blown away at a mere whisper of breath across them…

If your nipples aren't very sensitive, nipple clamps are just the thing to make them stand to attention.

A lot of pleasure and imaginative play can be applied after the clamp is released. An ice cube, a warm tongue, vibration, the stroke of a feather or the sting of a mini whip will all feel super-magnified on freshly unclasped nips.

Clips aren’t just for nipples!

Anything that is pinched hard for quite a while and then released becomes super sensitive – so imagine what a clamped clit could feel like!

Perhaps too much for some, but if you struggle with clitoral sensitivity, clamps with a clit clamp could wake it up – sharpish!

Labia lips are less sensitive but still enjoy tugging, spreading, and weighty sensations. Vibrating clamps offer a thrilling buzz that feels bloody fantastic - top tip, babes!

Homemade clips & clamps

Your local hardware, DIY or beauty shop can reveal some interesting homemade nipple pinchers. Clothes pegs, hardware clamps and even hair clips can be brought into play.

However, carefully check the surface of anything you intend on playing with. Run your finger or tongue over the surface before attaching. Feel for splinters or anything that could nick or cut.

Never use a clamp with serrated metal teeth, as these will break the skin.

Sensitive breasts & nipple clamps

Breast and nipple sensitivity changes throughout the menstrual cycle. What feels good one day may be excruciating the next. Be aware of this and don’t try to stick it out just because it felt good last time.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding are also times when nipple sensitivity can go through the roof. There’s no reason to not use clips & clamps whilst pregnant or breastfeeding but listen to your body.

Women with cystic breasts or silicone implants should be cautious when playing with nipple clamps.
