Like a bit of smut, but worried the small people in your house may stumble upon your dog-eared copies of mummy-porn with explicit visual imagery on the cover? Yep, that too.
So, imagine my delight when a copy of “Hungarian Rhapsody” from The Secret Library discreetly landed on my desk, begging to be picked up, read and stroked. Yes, I did say ‘stroked’. No cheesy image covering this book, nay, instead it’s bound in tactile, sumptuous black velvet. So incredibly lush, I found myself caressing it on the bus whilst reading, earning me a few odd looks from fellow passengers on the nr 55 to Hackney..!
The Secret Library is a brand new range from Xcite Books, designed with the somewhat shy or private woman in mind. Each book contains three specially commissioned novellas by the likes of KD Grace, Kay Jaybee, Lucy Felthouse and Justine Elyot. These books are easy to pick up without blushing, easily read whilst enjoying a Grande Latte at Starbucks, or left on the bedside without nosy guests paying too much attention. Discreet, is the word best used to describe them.
For now, all the stories in the Secret Library range all contain a female falling for an alpha male, but I’m hoping that publishers Xcite will eventually also include books with some hot girl-girl action for the bisexual or lesbian readers.
“Hungarian Rhapsody” may be marketed as ‘romance’ but the three stories in the book certainly did it for me, in a non-romance kinda way..! Hot and sexy, I quickly fell in lust with clumsy career-girl Sally in Kay Jaybee’s novella A Sticky Situation. But you’ll have to read the story for yourself…
