Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses natural plant extracts to promote health and well-being. Aromatic essential oils are used medicinally to improve the health of the body, mind, and spirit. Aromatherapy is believed to help when used as part of the treatment for anxiety, depression, insomnia, nausea, or pain.
More and more folks are testing out essential oil products by diffusing them at home or diluting them for skin usage. Essential oils are exceptionally concentrated and should be diluted into milder oils, humidifiers, or lotions.
Choose an essential oil based on your needs. For example, you might choose a citrusy scent for boosting your mood, lavender for relaxation, or eucalyptus for pain management.
Aromatherapy Massage Oils
We love Dona massage oils for their carefully balanced and beautifully scented aromatherapy properties, created by adding uplifting essential oils to a blend of 100% natural, nourishing, and vitamin-rich oils. Also, top tip, these oils can be used with oil burners and in the bath, making them deliciously multi-purpose products!
Dona Rev Up - Ylang Ylang is known to reduce depression, alleviate anxiety, and stimulate oil production in the skin and on the scalp. Mandarin is used for anti-aging properties; helps with smoothing out wrinkles. (We need some of this.)
Dona Reinvigorate - Coconut & Lime oil is fresh, fruity, and vibrant. It can help lift the mood, energize the body, and reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. (Yep, we need this one too!)
Dona Restore - Peppermint + Eucalyptus properties are recommended for bedtime diffusion if you have congestion or feel a cold coming on. They’ll clear your nasal passage while you sleep – and keep you from snoring, too! (Definitely need this one!)
All Dona essential oils are 100% natural and Vegan.
Tips for aromatherapy massage
Decide whether you want the oil diffused or applied directly to your skin during your massage. If you have any known sensitivities to a particular oil, it’s best to steer clear and choose something else.
Don’t go to your massage on a full stomach — this could cause stomach upset during and after your session. Do drink water before and immediately after your massage, and consider having a snack. Take a warm shower after your massage. This helps remove any oils left on your skin.
